Hi, I'm Emily, A CBT Therapist specialising in treating OCD

My Journey to Therapy

My path to becoming a therapist has been deeply personal. Like many of my clients, I once struggled with tolerating uncertainty in life. This led to excessive worry, compulsive behaviours, and panic attacks. I reached a turning point when I decided I wasn’t going to let anxiety control my life any longer. That’s when I sought help and began my own journey through Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

Discovering the Path Forward

This experience was life-changing. I discovered how my thoughts influenced my behaviours, trapping me in a cycle of worry and fear. Through therapy, I learned powerful, practical tools to understand the cause of my difficulties, balance my thinking, and calm my mind and body. Inspired by my own experience, I decided to train as a CBT therapist, dedicating my career to helping others who felt as I once did. My goal is to help you understand what keeps anxiety going and, step by step, to show you that with the right tools, you have the power to reclaim a life of balance and peace.

Professional Experience

Now, almost ten years later, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals both in the NHS and in private practice. I now specialise in treating OCD and I am fully accredited with the BABCP. I have specialised training from the highly regarded Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience at King’s College London, the Centre for Anxiety Disorders and Trauma and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.

My Approach

Having been on the “other side” of therapy, I understand how isolating OCD can feel. But I also know that change is possible with the right support and guidance.

Everyone’s experience is different, so our work together will begin by gaining a shared understanding of your story. From there, we’ll set individualised therapy goals to ensure that our focus stays on what’s most important to you.

I primarily use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and specialise in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), which is particularly effective for treating OCD. As our sessions unfold, we may draw from Compassion-Focused Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, depending on your needs.

My therapeutic style is warm, encouraging, and light-hearted—because I believe the process doesn’t always have to feel heavy.

You deserve a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your feelings and experiences.
